I think you will find that the cops have to write up an incident report.
If one was, you have officially been investigated for suspicion of being a
perv with a camera.
Next time they stop you for walking down the street with a camera, they have
a record of a prior invetsigation of you being a perv with a camera.
You may not get the polite conversation treatment if you get questioned
again.
