They seem too small ... it looks like a lot of these pics would view a lot better if they were larger.
I like what you're trying to do, however, I think the gallery needs some editing. There are a lot of pics, and some of them don't add much or anything to the story. Try reducing the number of pics by half ... if you use the strongest images you'll end up with a stronger gallery that will pull the viewer in. The situation you photographed is unique, work with that uniqueness and cull the mundane pix. You've got something really good here - just work with it a little more.
