Well, that's about what we're all looking for. I want a 5D spec body,
and I'll pay 5D money for it. Give me 12 megapixels, a fast buffer and
good write time. I don't expect to see full frame. But that kind of
camera doesn't replace the 645D, which is much higher spec. I keep
hearing people say that Pentax should be marketing a 35mm FF camera
with specs close to what the 645D is purported to support. That isn't
going to happen.

The K-mount digital bodies have been selling in quite reasonable
numbers. But Pentax hasn't had a pro following in 35mm for close to
40 years. There will be more advanced cameras, strong prosumer
entries. But I doubt there will ever be anything like a 1DS Mark II.
The market doesn't justify it. The D645 is a longshot too, but it
makes a bit more sense, given the Pentax history.
