On 23/10/05, graywolf, discombobulated, unleashed:

No, completely by myself. I may be asked to get some shots of a street
scene where children are present. I turn up, set up, shoot. I would have
no problem with stills if I was doing that. Okay, I have a police-issued
Press card, and if the old Bill did come up and ask me what I was doing
(as has happened, but not for shooting in a plain street scene), then I
would show him that, but all that does is point out that I work for a
living. It does not give me some previously unknown right to shoot people
in the street. I don't need one. We do not have a privacy law (as such)
here and as far as I am aware, legally I can film or photograph on a
public right of way, and that includes the people on that right of way -
and off it - be they adults or children. That's as I understand it based
on my company's legal advice. If that advice changed, I would adhere
accordingly. I'm staff and have to do what the boss says.

Cheers,
  Cotty
