If the rest who do it are like me, they love their Pentax gear for
sentimental reasons. They (I) wish the conclusions they were reaching were
not really true. :( It's like having a car you love and beginning to think
that it's better to buy a new one as opposed to maintaining the old.
In one respect it's satisfying to use, what in many circles is viewed as
underdog equipment, and produce fantastic results. In between my thoughts I
want to run and go get the MX and K1000 out! OTOH, it's disappointing that
so much time has gone by without a second answering salvo from Pentax in the
'digital age/war'.
It's truly unfortunate that the MZ-D was a debacle. It would have been,
expectations being met, a superb offering.
In my case, complaining is not bashing, it's blowing off steam and thinking
out loud. Call it my 'Venus-side'. :)

I just don't understand why those who have decided Pentax is not for them
continue to whine about it day after day. It's particularly self defeating
for those who must have full frame. All indications seem to say that we
won't see that from Pentax or, for that matter, Nikon. I don't hear Cotty
complaining about Pentax. He knew what he wanted and went out and got it. I
didn't mean to imply that users of other digital brands should leave the
list. I meant that they should act on their beliefs and quit complaining.

Even if I purchase another system in the future, the Pentax would stay in
the family until it's no longer functional. And then I've got the 67
which I'll either use voraciously or not be able to buy film for or get
readily available processing (in the selection I wish).

It sounds like you've already decided where to put your money, so get on
with it. Obviously no one here is going to change your mind. Pentax
obviously can't produce new models at a pace that will satisfy you.

I sincerely don't think there's any bashing going on. Yes, I am unhappy
with Pentax because they are so slow to bring new offerings to market,
and offerings that are on a par with their competition (spec-wise) in a
time-frame that actually allows them to compete. I'm unhappy because
they seem to want to play the low-end and very high-end of the market
(assuming there's a 645D that's too expensive to justify).
The slowness, in general, does not bode well in today's market place.
I'm not evaluating any particular model of camera. I'm looking at it
from a 'deciding where to put future money' standpoint.

Hmmm. In all fairness your negative comments are confined largely to
cameras you don't own or use. That's more like bashing than valid
evaluation. But bash on. I find it all somewhat amusing.
