The dust would probably bother me. Is the dust visible in the captured
image? If not, then maybe it's not a big issue.
AF on a macro, especially at close distances is virtually useless. I almost
always use the FA 100/2.8 in MF mode. It hunts and searches like crazy in
AF when attempting to close distance focus. At that shallow of DOF, it
likely will not obtain critical focus on the part of the subject you wish it
to anyway. If you were to use it as standard lens and shoot an object a
couple of meters away to infinity, AF should act pretty much as one would
expect.

The FA50/2,8 came today. Very disappointing.
First, there is dust in it. Visible from 5,6 and up.
Second, it behaves strangely when stepping up or down. It zooms out when
going down at close range.
Third, the AF is extremely poor. I could live with that, but on top of the
dust and the tendency to zoom... No way.
I'll give it a second try, because it was cheap. But most likely I'll send
the seller a mail telling him what I think about it.
