I was saying that many seem to express the attitude of "Oh well, this is what we have come to expect from Pentax. They are a smaller company. They don't make their own sensors. This makes them dependent on other suppliers. Therefore they are slow to release new products. Therefore they are behind the curve.". My question was, in view of the above, "Is that not a factor to consider when making a purchasing decision?". I think the answer to that can be nothing but 'Yes'.

It didn't seem to be so much of a factor until last week.
Pentax has been behind the technology curve for camera bodies for the past 35 or so years. Generally, quite far.

Just pointing out the obvious Bill. It was held out there as defense. I was pointing out it's a factor to consider.

For the past 35 years, we haven't been in the digital rat race with camera technology changing at the speed of light. Basically the limiting factor was the lens, the film, and the photographer. You wanted a new analog sensor, just go buy a roll. You wanted a larger sensor, go MF or LF.
