That's pretty much what I try to keep my images to for web display.
I figure there are people using 800x600 in which case an 800pixel image is
slightly too big but I figure there are more people with 1024x768 so an
800pixel image is a good size. I also try to be considerate of people with
dial up connections and, except for once or twice, try to keep image size
>150kb
