Ann,
it looks as if the file is only in your email program. You seem to use
mozilla, so try to right click the PDF attachment icon. A context menu
should appear, offering you the possibility to save the file to disk.
Then the PDF should be on your harddisk as a file of it's own.
Good luck and don't hesitate to ask on if this does not work.

I can open the file in Acrobat reader and look at

when it opens in reader it shows the name of the
file as the subject line,

In my preferences in Netscape communicator 4.6 I
had checked off
"Don't store anything locally larger than 40 K"
(one of my little safetly precautions)
wonder if that monkey-wrenched it...
My mail settings are set to plain text both
sending and receiving - but that shouldn't affect
attachments.
DOn't know what to do.
