Good old-fashioned Auto-Thyristor Flash, a la Vivitar 283 or 285HV. Exposure via a sensor on the flash, based on dialed in ISO and Aperture.

I've had excellent luck with my Nikon SB-24 in Auto mode, and will probably be picking up some more Nikon Speedlites for multi-flash work (Pre-Digital Nikon Speedlites are going for next to nothing these days)

Hi Albano ...

I suppose in some ways it's good to know that the camera isn't defective. What's "auto flash?"

TTL metering in DSLRs. I've talked with some pros
here, they're using top Nikon and Canon models, and
they are unable to get predictable results in TTL
flash. They are using auto flash or not flash at all
now. They have talked to local importers without
success. It seems sensor's reflectance is hard to work
with, not like film, I don't know, but all brands at
all price levels have problems.
