Mail has done OK by me, at least through the Panther-Tiger revisions. It's got some curiously rough edges, but improves with every release. I'm curious about what "doing IMAP properly" means, however, and how it fails to do that... I'm not specialist enough in mail systems and protocols to know the subtleties.
