Indeed you should, because I have done exactly that.
I think I bought mine at Ritz or Wolf Camera, but that was several years

surprised that a PZ-1 doesn't have a PC socket already on the
camera...
So'm I. Even grumbled about it to a Pentax rep one time. (Probably not
something that has any effect at their end, but venting often feels good.)
At least the *istD has one. I haven't used it yet, but it's there.
