This is not just a rumour Boris ;-) We are just preparing '07 calendar for
one of our key clients, and photos must be enlarged to 85 cm of height. We
were wondering if we should make photos digitally or on medium format. So we
did some RAW test shots using KM Dynax 7D + APO G 80-200/2,8 lens. These
RAWs were then upsampled in ACR 3.2 to 25 MPix and properly sharpened. Then
we printed 100% crop of resulting picture on A3 Epson archival matte paper
on our Epson 2200 printer. The results are impressive - both client and my
boss, who has been shooting slide film for 20 years were enchanted :-)
Actually it was difficult to see quality flaws from distance greater than
about 30-40 cm. And so we gave up idea of shooting on medium format and went
completely digitally. And so this naked women with fruits were photographed
using 6 MPix DSLR ;-) I guess the same is possible with any Pentax DSLR and
good glass as they have the same sensor as in KM Dynax (Maxxum) 7D :-)
