Tim,

We have an Epson RX500.  The printing is excellent,
and the scanning of slides is probably very good at
least--it keeps improving as I ascend the learning
curve.  The Epson scanning software is not nearly as
good as VueScan, but it is -much- easier to use, and
highly adjustable.

I've abandoned any fantasies of scanning my 10,000 or
so slides, unless I'm planning to email them somewhere
or post them on the web.  It takes way too long, and
for a few dollars I can get a print commercially for
no effort.
