Ralf,

Ahhh, the LX. Enjoy it. In your hands it inspires, it begs to be used... it soon becomes second nature to use it. I took four of them on my recent trip to London. I did remember to shoot the *ist D though - ask Cotty!

The LX is made to be dragged through steel mills and industrial ruins. It can take the hard road as well as the paved one. I have used them whenever I was working on Mayan ruins. I did draw the line when I was doing underwater archaeology though. I have always looked upon cameras as tools not jewels. They are to be used to facilitate capturing your mind's vision.
And I have yet to come across a camera that takes its role as well.

After a while it will begin to achieve its own character. Every scratch and dent will tell a story. The sheen it will acquire will beckon people to admire it - even those who are not photographers.

I am glad to see that you said 'almost too beautiful', go out and enjoy the LX.

Just received a parcel with an LX and a PKA 2.8/24 mm. Both in pristine
condition, almost too beautiful for dragging them through steel mills
and industrial ruins.

Never had an LX before. Quite impressive, really...

P.S.: referring to an earlier thread, I have eventually ordered a
*istDS. Should be arriving any day, now.
