I don't remember digital users "putting down" the wet process. Some have said it's not very practical to do it any more. That's just an observation based on having worked both ways. Many of us practiced the darkroom workflow for many years and have great affection and respect for it. I still have a full-service, multi-format darkroom. But I work in PhotoShop much more often. And like Godfrey, I don't fiddle. No more than I fiddled in the darkroom. But this is a silly debate that's been repeated many times. It's becoming a real yawner.
Have I shared the story before about somebody telling my dad he needed to ditch his K1000 -- "too old-fashioned" -- and buy a nice new digital? My dad stopped using the K1000 shortly thereafter -- in favour of his newly-purchased, 50+ year old Rolleiflex. So yeah, there are people out there "putting down" the whole film deal. They don't necessarily count for anything, but they exist.
