Of the two versions, I like Cotty's take on it much better. It adds
drama, which to my eye is completely lacking in the original. If
some think Cotty's version is too dark, perhaps you'd like something
in between the two.
Of course some of the problem in comparing images this way is that
many are probably viewing on uncalibrated monitors. You may be
seeing the image darker or lighter than I am.
