Thanks for the comments on the images. Gladding, McBean really is an
amazing place to photograph, at least partly because it is a working factory
with so much historical stuff (the photos that I showed don't even scratch
the surface).
A local photographer, Gene Kennedy, has been doing workshops there once or
twice per year for a decade or so. Lots of local photographers have been
there, some many times. As a result, Gladding, McBean photos have almost
become cliche around here since so many photographers have shown work from
there.
Regarding my film choice, I've been shooting and scanning color film, then
converting it to black and white, for two reasons. First, it scans well
compared to black and white film. Second, I can filter in Photoshop using
the channel mixer after I take the picture. It's "cheating" I guess, but it
works for me....
I'll likely continue to use film (at least some) in medium format (with my
old Rolleiflex TLRs and my Galvin 6x9 view camera).
