Excellent point. I feel much better knowing that I not only have my
processed tiff in storage but my untouched RAW file as well.

Shooting raw is like shooting negatives and keeping them. You and
still make jpegs from them, use a batch process and and it is not much
trouble, but you still have your negatives if you want to make that
exhibition print next year sometime. The price is an extra step and a
lot more storage space.
At least that is how I view it.
