I too have some cibachromes from the seventies that look brand new. Good stuff, but it took some really nasty chemistry to accomplish it. I hope I never smell that again :-).
According to Henry Wilhelm, Cibachromes have excellent dark storage capabilities, but their light fading (on display) is only somewhat better than colour photographic paper.
