I read an article that cited a study that farm kids have far fewer allergies and infections (later in life), because they're brought up in dusty, dirty environments from infancy. Not that farms are dirty (don't want to insult farmers), but - you know what I mean - dusty barnyards, manure and guano all over the place, running around muddy fields.
