Selftimer: Should move away from the mirror box to set. You push the little chrome button that is hidden until you move the lever to start the timer. It does not tick but gives off a steady buz until the shutter trips. Nope it should not be flopping around.
The self timer lever flops around freely once it is wound. Pressing the little button and it will then sit tight after it unwinds.
