They could have done what Pentax did. Buy one from Sunpak with their name on it, and non-standard cords to they could make big bucks selling the cords.

Yes, they abandoned it because it didn't work. I intended to say that none of the *current* DSLR cameras use OTS flash metering. Contax tried it in the N Digital, too, but didn't have much luck in making it work right. They had no choice, since they didn't have a flash that could do preflash.
