Hi, Collin. I do have some familiarity with the above three lenses.

Most recently, I've had a chance to play around with the FA 28-105/3.2-4.5,
strictly on a DS. It actually seems quite good optically, and it certainly
seems to autofocus very quickly. It doesn't seem overly rugged (keep in
mind, however, that I'm mostly an ol' manual focus kind of guy, used to
more metal and less plastic).

Both the A 28-135/4 and the A 35-105/3.5 are, in contrast to the above,
quite solidly built (but quite heavy and bulky, too, especially the 28-135,
but that never bothers me as much as it seems to bother some people). Both
are quite good optically (for zooms), although not overly fast (maybe not
as fast as I'd like). (Their so-called "macro" functions are rather weak,
however, but this is a common shortcoming of a lot of "macro zooms" - <g>.)
I actually prefer the greater range of the 28-135, even though a lot of the
PDML people say they like the 35-105 better (although I am not sure that
all of 'em have owned both lenses - <g>). I've had a chance to own both
(two of each at one time), but I no longer have the 35-105's any more - I
prefer the slightly greater zoom range of the 28-135's, even though I
sacrifice a bit of speed, but I really don't think I sacrifice optically.

Fred
