My assumption regarding the lens mount is based only on information
presented here in regard to optimum angles for light distribution to a
sensor. And of course the fact that those makers without a large lens
mount have opted for APS-C. I also find it interesting that everyone
seems to assume that a full-frame Pentax digital would somehow be much
more affordable than a full-frame Canon. I doubt if anyone can better
the price of the 5D. But as I said, I'm happy with APS-C, as are the
people I work with.

want full frame, Canon is the easy and obvious choice. Why wish? You
can have it now.
I could sell my house and buy a nice new Lambo too, but we have to be
practical.
