Tell you what, David - all of us that own A* 85/1.4's will volunteer to take our lenses apart, and see if we can duplicate the same problem. Then, all we need is for one of us to figure out a solution, and then we (including you, of course) can all use that solution to put our Humpty Dumpties back together again. Who wants to go first?
