Won't happen, you know that ;-) But seriously: there's always a trade-off to add a feature (size, weight, price, wasted development time), so you please some, displease others...

And make it even more likely some others
out there will switch, with the potential of using cheaper older lenses?

I doubt if it's a significant number. I see the pity in other photographers eye's if I tell them how good cheap 30 year old MF primes are... If someone shows his EF 80-200/4 L USM however everyone in the room instantly starts to drool. I think most users of other brands are thoroughly self-brainwashed to believe old lenses are crap :o)

People will still buy new ones too, as long as they crank out good new ones like the DA 16-45.

Are the people who want good, cheap lenses the same that will buy good, expensive new lenses? If not, who do you want to buy your bodies?

(Of course, some won't stay cheap long if they do that.)

Tell me about it! And they should retroactively make more K35/3,5's and A50/1,4's...
