Listers have contributed URL's for nearly a dozen web sites that review lenses during the past week. During the same week, there's been a small thread going on about different light sources & how it affects color. This isn't a earth-shattering epiphany or anything, but I used to have books on different filters under different types of light (carbon arc, tungston, magnesium, flourescent etc) and how to guage different kalvin ranges (or "warmth") without sophisticated metering devices..... So where's the URL for that kind of info?? Even the filter makers (Hoya, Tiffen etc) don't address this... not that I've seen. Ditto for the film maker web sites (see how many quizzical looks you get when asking for tungsten film; or how many clerks actually know which B&W film can be used in a C-41 process). You just spent a weeks pay on this super lens that has "majic glass" in it & now you're going to run out & risk getting yellow shots simply because you didn't notice the mercury vapor lamps? You get the film back & yer pissed & your wife is laughing at ya. Which filter are you going to buy?? Gonna trust that goof behind the counter of the camera shop?? Yer lucky if they know the diff between a LR44 & a S76 battery... both of which seems to fit your ME-Super just fine. <g> Scoot - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
