I recently called Cal Precision and asked about their replacing the dented hood on a Pentax-A* 300mm f/2.8. After some checking, I got a call back that the hood would be $200 and the labor would be unknown until they had a chance to examine the lens. (said they hadn't ever done one). Pentax, CO has it scheduled for replacement in addition to some aperture leafs and linkage. Their quote; $137.37 returned to me.(parts, labor and $5.00 shipping). Low quote surprised me.
I got it replaced at Pentax Norway a few years back. It costed about $50 including parts and work.
