Hi, listers,
I wonder about the top performance and adjustements of the 17mm f/4
fish-eye. I bought one some monthes ago, and since then never managed to get
a correct focus in the viewfinder for objects located "far". In fact, when
the focus ring is on infinite, only the objects located about 6 to 7m are
correctly focussed. The seller tells me that it is normal, and that with
such a short focal even at full aperture the right focus is obtained from
~10m to infinite at any position of the focussing ring.
What I know it that when I aim a subject at 50 ~ 100 m I never get the 2
parts of the stigmometer alined properly.
I made comparison pictures with a A 24mm f/2.8 and differences are visible
on far objects (e.g. when counting the sticks of a TV antenna)
My question is : can the focussing be adjusted on a 17mm fish-eye and does
it worth it ? The 6 month warranty expires in september and I just have some
weeks to decide if I ask for a warranty adjustment or not.
Many thanks in advance for any advice on this matter,
Best regards,
Cyril.
