You can, Jostein. 1825g on my (rather old 'n' cheap) kitchen scale. Caps and lens hood included. So, Mr. B Dimitrov is clearly in the wrong here (1510 g). Even stripping it from caps, hood, and tripod collar would not bring it below 1700 grams, I believe.

Which is why I never bothered. :-) I had both in my posession for a couple of days, and compared them on the same scale. The 1270 g figure for the Sigma seems accurate, but the Pentax is heavier, unless memory betrays me. Maybe we can persuade Jens to check it? He owns the lens now...:-) Jostein
