What I'm hoping is that they keep all the good things about the ist-D and just improve it in other areas. I love having the battery grip and vertical controls, but I also love being able to remove it when traveling light. For my fall cycling trip in France I kept the ist-D, sans battery grip, and a couple of primes in my Tamrac Velocity 7 bag for a compact, lightweight kit. One day I put off recharging the batteries one day more than I should have. No problem: Just stopped in at a drug store/chemist's and picked up four Lithium AA and I was on my way again in minutes :) Needless to say, I hope they keep the AA power supply. -- Mark Roberts Photography and writing www.robertstech.com
