The big difference is write speed. The D needs 36 secs to write a 5 shot RAW burst. The DS only 16 secs. According to www.dpreview.com About the DS dpreview says: Overall a fairly respectable performance for an 'entry level' digital SLR, slightly faster than most of the competition and with a larger buffer the *ist DS can fire off eight shots in quick succession in JPEG mode or five in RAW mode. Kudos Pentax.

Sorry to run this thread slightly off-topic, but how does the accuracy and efficiency of the DS compare to the D? Am I missing out on a lot, by not having the D? To me, the DS doesn't seem too bad. I tried it in continuous mode the other day, and I thought it did better than I would have in MF. Then again, I'm slow and meticulous by nature. :) thanks, Glen
