There's an international camera club/photographers association .- don't
remember the name - but it's located in the US.
If you joint (become a paying member) they will supply you with a press
card. I'm not sure, however, that this will get you a photo permit for a
concert o this magnitude. I'm sure only selected photogs will be allowed. If
there's no public access, it's not necessarily legal to photograph without a
permission. You will risk to get thrown out. Why don't you give them a
call - the ones who arrange the concert. Perhaps they don't care too much.
Only the photogs with the really good places to be can in fact
compete/threaten the pros, anyway.
I sometimes got a permission only by asking. I photographed the Brand New
Heavies in Tivoli without asking, BTW (an Optio wouldn't have been very
helpful anyway):
