Thanks for looking. He does have a good look, and I hope he can get a
second look from a casting company. I think there are distractions in
all of these shots, but that's part of a broader cinematic look. I like
the wire in the skylight glass. I even like the cracked panel in one of
the shots, which I could easily have fixed. But I wanted to preserve
the factory look, the dirt on the floor, the nastiness. I used studio
equipment, but I wanted a real-world gritty look.

I shot a portfolio for this young fellow today in an old factory. I
just downloaded the pics and really only glanced at them. But I'm
pleased. Here's one. I'll probably post a couple more in the days to
come. But the young man's name is Ruel. He's from Jamaica and has been
practicing martial arts for a long time. He wants to be a movie star.
Tough goal, but he's very determined. I put him up near the ceiling on
a forklift and pallet for this shot.

I've already commented briefly on the other three shots of him that
you posted after this one. As I said WRT the "middle" on of those
other three, I find the frame and chicken wire in the background to be
somewhat distracting. Okay, now that I look closer, I guess it's not
chicken wire, but a metal reinforcing mesh in skylight glass, but
still, I do find it distracting.
Too bad, because I really like the angle from which you shot him, I
like his pose. Nice dof. There's something about his face that
really speaks volumes. It's - what's the word? - serene. Very cool.
cheers,
frank
