While I wasn't expecting it being available locally yet, I found it
disturbing that "the rep seems unsure if it will even be imported at
this stage". I already knew that I could get one from the States. I
guess CR Kennedy wants us to buy Sigma instead.
I'm taking it with a grain of salt, but I'd be disappointed if CRK
don't end up importing it. I'd be interested in knowing what others in
Australia are hearing.

I spoke to a CRK rep last year about the 31mm Ltd, which they weren't
going to import either. But the spin was no retailer was willing to
order it. However, the rep did import it in for me, and I bought it
directly from them - a very unusual situation for a distributor. It took
about a month, but the price was reasonable (a bit less than if I had
ordered it from NY and paid shipping and GST).
Ask nicely and they might do the same for the fisheye.
