The 24/2.0 is still listed on the USA Pentax site with no mention of it being discontinued.

I don't know but the resulting unavailability of advertised lenses is the same.

Either a mfr. is producing a given lens a and it's widely available for purchase at numerous vendors, or it's been discontinued. The fact that there have been numerous shortages and wait times to get what are presumably lenses that are part of the Pentax system is terrible (I can understand on the big long fast ones that cost in the thousands).

But is this a manufacturer problem or a distributor problem? Are there any official statements from Pentax that products are discontinued or not offered for sale outside Japan? Last time I've checked the lenses were still listed on Pentax Japan web page.
