I'm not too sure you are right.
Pro's may think this way. But they'll buy a Canon or a Nikon, anyway.
Consumers who buy Pentax ccameras probably can't imagine - at the time they
buy the camera - that they will ever want more than two F. 3.5-5.6 zoom
lenses. I couldn't - 10-15 years ago.

It definitely matters perception-wise, I would think. If I was a non-Pentax
owner in the market for a D200 competitor, and Pentax had a competitive
offering, the next thing I would look at was available lenses. I probably
would be fooled into thinking I could just buy anyone of them off the shelf
at any time.
