> I had the 600mm solid cat. It's one heavy beast! Yes, indeed. It's reasonably compact (for a 600mm lens), but's it ~very~ different from at least most of the 500/8 flyweights. By the way, I've had a chance to test several of these (including the "original" Perkin-Elmer version, which I also still have) as well as two of the similar 800/11's, and I found the 600/8's to be significantly better than either of the 800/11's.
