Perhaps so. The whole matter is very complicated. Most of the protesteres
against the drawings haven't actuallye seen them - or they have been shown
many more drawings, that was never published in Denmark. Some demontrations
are actually about something quite different - either local political issues
or about Denmarks - and other Western countries presence in Afganistan and
Iraq, which has very litle to do with a small, unfortunate Danish newspaper.
But you are right, some things don't add up. In Denmark it's illegal to say
racist things - people have been punished for this. And it can be illegal to
call somebody else a racist, without good cause. (The Nazi's were b.t.w.
racists not only in their language, art etc. but certainly in action as
well). But it is obviously not really illegal to offend muslims! As I said -
it's very complicated. And I'm not able to analyse it properly. Who is BTW.
My aim was just to point out, that when religion and politics are combined -
you get a very dangereous mixture.

Part of the problem might also be the fact that in many European
countries, display, sale, and other promotion of anything Nazi is
illegal. This might be seen as hypocritical by the radical muslims. On
the one hand these countries go out of their way not to offend Jewish
sensibilities, and on the other proclaim free speech when it offends
Islamic sensibilities. If the tables were turned and WWII had instead
sent millions of Muslims to their death at Auschwitz and other sites,
how might things be different today?
