Mishka,
You declare as an objective truth that a faith is evil for having
objective truths.
That is an oxymoron.
One chooses to believe. If one believes in a faith their choices
become constrained, but at the core, one *chooses* to believe. Note that
the Abrahamaic faiths are not the only faiths to condone the concept of
eternal punishment, or require certain actions, that is in fact a
component of most all religions. Asatru (The current version of the old
Norse faith) definitely has the concept of eternal damnation, and in
many ways Hel is a lot worse than Hell.
And Suicide is btw, a mortal sin in all the Abrahamaic religions.

bob,
religion is *not* a set of ideas.
and no choice whatsoever.
religion is teachings of god. big difference, since there is
(obviously) only one true god. and if you betray your faith,
you are guaranteed an eternal punishment, such that blowing your
brains off instead of giving up your beliefs is a pretty good deal.
that's why (abrahamic) religions are fundamentally evil.

Jens,
it does add up. I mentioned it in an email a few days ago. The difference
between saying racist things and saying things against a religion, is that
people don't have a choice about their race, and can do nothing about it,
whereas people (adults at least) do have a choice of religion.
A religion is a set of ideas, whereas race is a biological property of the
individual. Why should one set of ideas be ring-fenced and protected from
criticism, when others are not?
