If I believe something exists, that does not mean I am right and it exists. It may indeed, not exist.

Not necessarily. Read some quantum physics. There is something called the observer effect. In many experiments the universe acts the way the observer expects it to act. You can not observe anything without altering it. In a very real way, each of us exists in his/ her own unique universe.
