I know I don't have to tell you this, but the existence of God isn't a
democratic concept.  Either He is or He isn't, regardless of how many
people or who believes in him (or not).

I know that Isaac Newton had some fairly odd ideas about the occult,
including the fact that he was an alchemist - ideas that don't
dovetail very well with Christianity as most know it.

In terms of any American president, I'm sure that things haven't
changed:  no atheist will ever get elected president.  I'm sure your
examples were theists, but if they weren't, they'd never be able to
admit it publically.
