At least one poster on the dpreview forum states quite categorically that there will be a grip accessory. I can't imagine it *not* having vertical controls. On another point, I agree with Paul that the card door looks large enough (just) to take CF cards, although I'm not sure it's large enough for any extra width for a CF card pop-out button - perhaps that could go above/below the CF card slot (right next to the SD card slot :-).
