I'll wait and see what's down function menus, and how deep, before I get too worked up about it. I've seen good UI on menu systems (push the Fn button, then the 4-way controller allows you quick access to four different settings), and I've seen bad design where you have to navigate through several different screens, and long lists of options, to get to the setting you want to change. I believe that on some of the Canon cameras the quick- access functions are user-assignable, so someone like Joe could put 2-second delay there, while someone like me (who hasn't intentionally used the 2-second delay in the 2 years that I've owned the D) would put something else there.
