Hi John,

I'm cautious as well. Somewhere in the past year or so I discovered that
even name brand cards may be made by other companies, and that what you
expect inside in the way of quality isn't always there. I'm certainly not
in a position to take apart cards to see what's inside as I have done with
other products. However, at least with the name brand you may have some
more recourse.

New Egg sells Transcend amongst other brands. When I first heard of
Transcend a few years ago, I was skeptical, but have since gotten positive
feedback from those who have used the cards. I've been happy with my
Transcend purchase, but I suspect I'd be just as happy with Kingston.

The Lexar Memory Stick card that I have, even though I bought the then
premium version, is slower to download and write to in the computer than
two other brands ... but it is a durable card and fits snugly in a slot
that some other cards, including Sony, wiggle around in.

Anyway, as they say, you pays yer money and you makes yer choice.

Shel
