People are usually very eager to switch to a higher resolution camera, and are reminded of the file size downside much later. I know an amateur photographer who just sold his new Canon EOS 20D for the 5D... and uses only the 6Mpix setting (JPEG) (and complains about burned highlights). He enjoys the superb DOF, though, and can show the beast to colleagues!
