That's curious, given that our SD-SD Tfr speed is very similar either my reader has a problem with my SD-CF adaptor or my adaptor is crap? > That is much faster than either the Sony or the Pentax DS can write, > so in the camera there is virtually no discernible difference in > write speed. I notice a speed deficit in my *ist D (which is slow as a wet week as you know) when using the SD-CF adaptor and I know it's not a phycological response too because I forgot I was using it one time and the camera seemed sluggish to save. > Can't explain this at all (it's why I was doing timings... ;-) but > needless to say I'll buy CF and SD cards rather than Memory Stick PRO > cards. I the innocent look of a set of contacts on a card masks the complexity of the interface electronics behind it. The tech is obviously a lot more complex than we generally perceive and the difficulty is that it's impossible to predict how one type card will interact with any particular host device without testing :-( Cheers, Rob Studdert HURSTVILLE AUSTRALIA Tel +61-2-9554-4110 UTC(GMT) +10 Hours [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://members.ozemail.com.au/~distudio/publications/ Pentax user since 1986, PDMLer since 1998
