They may have had to switch production over to the new D. I would imagine they 
are at least at the stage of building production prototypes. The DS2 may have 
been a short-run test mule to try out the larger lcd and some other bits and 
pieces. I think most manufacturers have all they can do to try and keep up with 
the fast changing DSLR market. For a maker with limited resources, it must be a 
real struggle.
