I am pretty happy with my Sunpak DX-12R. The modelling lights come in
handy. However, TTL with the*istD is somewhat inconsistent and I find
myself going full manual for most closeup work with the ring flash.
It does a lot better with longer distances, but that's really not the
point for a ring light.
I bought the Sunpak from KEH shortly after I got my *istD.
